If you've noticed your 300 Tdi is pumping out black smoke particularly when starting up or changing gear. Or if your engine doesn't quite have the same power that it did, one reason for this is the EGR valve ( Exhaust Recirculation Valve) which was designed to reduce emissions by recycling and burning off exhaust gases through the engine. In fact the EGR valve can cause your engine to become clogged up with grease, oil and soot, particularly if the EGR sticks open and consequently increases your Land Rovers emissions.
If this sounds like your Land Rover then our EGR blanking plate might be the solution. Designed to prevent waste gases and sludge re-entering the engine. Fits easily between the EGR valve and exhaust manifold, this product is simple to install, and requires no specialist tools or engine modification. Some of the benefits reported after fitting a blanking plate include: reduction in black smoke, increased power, disappearance of flat spot, and smoother acceleration although we cannot guarantee these improvements every time.
